This is a list of my preferred art supplies that I like to use for my artwork. This includes pencil sharpeners, pencils, colored pencils, acrylic paint, and more! So, without further ado, let's get started!
Even though these are only meant to be school pencils, these are wonderful for sketching. You just can't go wrong with these pencils. They are marketed as the world's best pencil, but I don't think they're the world's best. I think the world's best pencil is the Blackwing, but then again, I could be wrong. The Dixon Ticonderogas are just very good sketching pencils.
These are wonderful artist-quality colored pencils for those of you who are on a budget. They keep a sharp point very well, but at the same time, they're very vibrant too.
This pencil sharpener is a very good handheld sharpener, wether you're trying to sharpen colored pencils, or regular graphite pencils. It's buttery smooth when you're sharpening a pencil, and it produces minimal waste. It's also user serviceable (all you have to do is unscrew the blades from the top to replace them!) It also has a lock top to keep pencil shavings from falling out, and the top itself locks in place to keep the pencil shavings in, in case you drop the sharpener.
I have had this sketchbook for about a few years now, and it has been great! The paper has some tooth to it, without being too rough. I have had little to no issues using my colored pencils on it.
This is a wonderful cheap acrylic paint (it costs about $1 for a bottle of it!) I have used it for all of my paintings, and it hasn't let me down once! I just love painting with this paint.
There are certain types of art supplies where I have absolutely no preference for one brand or the other, as I'd be happy using whatever:
