My Stance On AdBlockers

The internet is (quite literally) chock full of ads. You can get rid of these with an adblocker, but a lot of people wonder about the ethical issues surrounding that (eg creators not getting paid), but today, I'm going to tell you my stance on this situation.

What Do I Think Of AdBlockers?

I think adblockers are a great way to protect your system against malware, as ads are quite often a threat to your cybersecurity. I know some people might say "but when you use an adblocker, you're essentially blocking a revenue stream for your favorite content creators." My response to this counter argument is that most content creators have a place where you can directly donate to them without dealing with the circle of hell that ads create. Heck, even the FBI suggests you use one. So I don't care if visitors of my site use an ad blocker or not. I just want people to have a better experience browsing the web (and protect their online privacy in the process.)

WHAT ARE THE BEST ADBLOCKERS OUT THERE?

I think the best adblockers you can use are uBlock Origin or AdGuard. (See bottom of page for Chrome and Edge links.) These two are free from corporate corruption (people pay AdBlockPlus to whitelist their ads) or any other arbitrary bullshit.
