Phinistec Z6 Review

written by RichCat06 on August 13, 2024

In the past, I've talked about the advantages of downloading music and storing it on a device that could fit in your pocket. Well, today, I will be adding to that topic a review on an MP3 player that will rock your world!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

So far, this player has been lovely. It has exceeded all of my expectations. When I first got it out of the box, it was way smaller than I expected it to be, which is great. It's actually smaller than my my last player by an inch or two. I tested it out with some of my FLACs in my microSD card. The library update process is fast and snappy! Even though I have a metric shit ton of songs on that card (around 900 of them,) it was able to scan through the whole library in a few seconds. If that isn't good, I don't know what is!

SOUND QUALITY

There are two 3.5 mm jacks on this player: a line-out jack, and a headphone jack. I tested the headphone output with two pairs of headphones: a pair of JBL Tune 110s I had just got from Ross, and a pair of GK GS10 IEMs. The player drove the JBLs just fine, as any player would. The IEMs are where the Phinistec Z6 really shines! They drove them better than the AGPTEK A19X could! The speaker quality is fine. Just a step above a smartphone speaker, but then again, I won't be using it very often, as I mainly use it with headphones. The line out quality is pretty good too! I tested it with the auxillary input of a Milwaukee workstation radio, and it performed well.

BLUETOOTH

The bluetooth functionality on this player is pretty good, and music sounds good through it. You will have to put your device into pairing mode for the player to detect your device (I'm looking at YOU, JBL!!!) But that's fine.

FINAL NOTES

Overall, the Phinistec Z6 is an excellent player for those of you who want a good MP3 player, but don't want to break the bank in the process. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody who might want to jump into MP3 players!
